Ernestina Logbook Page

Date: Saturday & Sunday, June 17 & 18, 2000
Time: All Day

Schooner Ernestina is docked at Penns Landing, Phildelphia for the weekend alongside the Workshop Barge at Independence Seaport. Battleship Olympia is nearby. Boy Scout Troop 444 is not only helping the crew with public tours during the afternoon but up in the city exploring during the day. They board a plane for Tennessee Sunday morning.

Saturday morning the Boy Scouts awarded the crew an engraved wooden plaque of Tennessee and cooked them an authentic southern breakfast.

Philadelphia is hometown to both of Ernestina's captains, Willi Bank and Amanda Madeira. There has been some interest in the experience Ernestina had during "The Perfect Storm" in October/November 1991 as a result of the son-to-be-released movie. Ernestina had a couple articles in the papers....
