Schooner Ernestina lays alongside EYE OF
THE WIND at Hoosac Pier in Charlestown Navy Yard
now for the night after a very busy day of
Members Sails (10am-noon & 2pm-4pm) and an
evening sail and reception for Fleet Capital
organized by Meetings Etc. Inc. The winds are light and the weather is
beautiful. But navigating Boston Harbor with so
many small boats transiting from Tall Ship
cluster to Tall Ship cluster around the harbor
makes for stop and go traffic.
It is a pleasure to be able to
offer members the opportunity to view this event
from the water at no additional charge. It makes
the on-the-water experience that much more
available to everyone.
We are pleased to host Fleet
Capital aboard since it gives us an opportunity
to chat about the ongoing work of the ship
bringing powerful learning experiences to school
children of the Commonwealth and beyond.
The chart to the right shows
the overall track of the ship from July 10th (in
orange) showing the ship entering Boston Outer
Harbor via Nantasket Roads and July 11th (in
blue) for the Parade of Sail with the mustering
area in Broad Sound. The track alongside Thompson
Island runs down toward JFK Library and UMASS
Boston, the spur east of Long Island is the
originating point from anchorage in the shelter
of Long, Gallops and Georges Islands the night
before the July 11th Parade.
