Today we board folks through the great
efforts of Austen Colgate who sailed with Bob
Bartlett into the Arctic in 1940 and with our
millennium sail sponsors, Yankee Publishing for a
sail from 9-12. You can see the partial track to
the right as we motored up into the harbor to
view the Eagle, Cisne Branco and Libertad, then
set sail and sailed out to Portland light and
back. We recruited some
new helmspersons for the maneuvers and got a hand
on the sail raising form many aboard. We had a
wonderful lunch once back at the dock thanks to
the efforts of Carlene Carey and the generosity
of Yankee Publishing.
We are so pleased to have many
of the extended Trowbridge/Hale families aboard
who publish a great magazine, travel guide and
the well-know farmer's almanac. By the way, you
can subscribe to Yankee and support Ernestina....

After the sail, Ernestina crew
opened the ship up to the public and then hosted
a reception for Tucker Anthony in the evening
(tarps over all.) Another busy day.....
Wind: SE'ly and light

rain in the evening.
