Schooner Ernestina sails in the Parade of
Sail for Fall River Celebrates today from 1500 to
1830. Members of the Chamber of Commerce and
their families were aboard. They pulled with a
will just like they have been all year to pull
off a fabulous festival spanning five days at
Heritage State Park on Mt. Hope Bay. You can see images of the Sloop
Providence and Schooner Californian along with
the loud salute from the Big Guns of the USS
Massachusetts.
The Parade track ran down to
the Mt. Hope Bridge and then returned.
The lower image shows Nathalie
Bornes from France at the helm who is aboard as
part of an exchange program for students through
a group of Westport families.
The Festival features Blood
Sweat & Tears with David Clayton Thomas,
Roomful of Blues, Taylor Dayne, Billy Gilman and
much more entertainment along with a celebration
of the cultural diversity of the city through a
Portuguese night.
