It is all about water today. Morning breakfast found us eating our
eggs underneath two tarps rigged by the dawn
watch. Inette and Mary Anne held a class on
watersheds and water chemistry after our morning
chores. With a goal of trying to get to
Nantucket, we headed out in the NNE breeze which
put us on a course for Vineyard sound. The wind
was predicted to shift SW by afternoon. The
drizzle came and went all day but did not dampen
our spirits and the wind never came around. We
had some great sailing and a chance for all the
watches to learn the ropes. We tacked
a little after 1400 and again around 1630 to make
it to our anchorage off Menemsha Bight by 2025.
A Watch provided evening
entertainment with some fun games for the ships
company, followed by songs and readings. The wind
finally shifted around to the SW by 0500 the next
morning.
