We
left Fan Pier at 0600 sharp this morning with 11
crew and 2 guests and set the single-reefed main,
fore and jumbo immediately (yes, with only 10
people!!) and have been motorsailing since
then. We were bucking a strong flood tide
coming out Nantasket Roads but are making good
time now (roughly 6.5 knots), taking the 5-7'
swells on our port quarter. ~Hence the jog out
towards Provincetown, to avoid taking it on our
beam.~ Would have written earlier but computer
work and the ship's motion were incompatible
until now. We plan on entering the canal
just in time to catch the slack tide at 1530.
