image to the right shows the track of the ship
for the sail today.
Boy Scouts came aboard for an
all day sail from New Bedford State Pier, out
into Buzzards Bay and back to Billy Woods Wharf
by 3pm.
The group then walked 1.2 miles
along the waterfront to Taber Park where they
camped in the shaddow of Fort Rodman, an historic
fort designed by Robert E. Lee, who was an
engineer before he became a famous general in the
Civil War.

Community
Boating Center
New Bedford, MA
During the evening, the ship
set sail from Billy Woods Wharf, in the south end
of New Bedford, with the Community Boating Center
aboard for a fundraising event from 5-7pm. We
sailed in fine company with people who are taking
action to provide great learning experiences for
children that will help shape their lives.
The picture below right is
"After-8," an a cappella group
that sang during the sail. It's great to have
music aboard!
The CBC offers programs for
young people in the community from a boat house
in Taber Park and a new location over in
"The Cove."
The weather has held for us
even as we sail into the Fall!
