Extensive
work continues at Kelley's Yard as crew move general
maintenance along as well..
The fish hold coaming is
painted. You can see Ernestina's documentation number and
tonnage inscribed in the beam.
The fish hold scuttle is
removed to enable the water tanks to be pulled out for
modification. This allows maintenance on the hard to reach
places.
Tony Marques' crew drill to
install carriage bolts that fasten futtocks together.
Another view of the
drilling. It takes a long bit to get through 14" of white
oak.

Futtock stock and some
planking material alongside the railway.
Futtock replacement
continues. Most are in, just a few to complete.
White oak and white pine
arrive from Jim Aaron's sawmill at 7:30 am on Saturday.
A view of the white oak
futtock stock, white oak planking material and white pine for
beams and sole planking in the fish hold. On a ship the 'floor'
is called the sole. Crow Island in the Fairhaven - New Bedford
Harbor is in the background.
The septic tank is moved
aside to allow access to remove lead so the futtock replacement
can continue in this area. The lead is so heavy that it must be
moved to be able to remove and replace futtocks.
