Sea Lab

July 23, 2004
We gave the ocean scientists from Sea Lab a human cultural connection through Ernestina's ECHO program. Sea Lab students showed great enthusiasm as they braved the deck on a hot day!

Natural resources and an examination of local marine sea creatures.

New Bedford waterfront in the past and the present.

Emma Sears, the teacher for this Sea Lab class, looks on as students look at old charts and images of New Bedford waterfront past.

Students examine tools of the trade, a look at technology on the sea in the past and present. We still use these tools today!

Anthropologist Traudi Coli helps students reflect on the learning of the day for a later presentation to the whole group.

Students present what they learned at each station.
