Extensive
work is in progress at the yard this winter with a particular
focus on the forward end of the ship. The planking has been
finished strengthening the bow in a large way. Now after some
fairing and bungs to cover the fastenings, caulking will go in
and painting will complete this part of the job.
It is a close shave on the beginning of the
season but the crew are working hard to have everything
together and running smoothly by the second week in May.
With this
shot you can see the extent of the work and get a feel for the
underwater shape of Ernestina.
