Sail
The weather
was forecasted to have rain and quite a bit of wind.
Fifty members showed up to the state pier in New Bedford under
bright sunshine and light southerly wind. It was really
great to have some familiar faces and first timers for the
three hour sail.
We left New
Bedford harbor and set the four lowers. There was music,
history, and knot tying to keep the participants engaged, or
at least to keep them occupied when resting after setting
sail.
It was a
beautiful day regardless of the light wind. It was a
pleasure to have the Fernandes family sail with us who have a
connection to the years when the ship sailed as a packet from
Cape Verde.
Many thanks
to our members that made it for the sail and we hope to see
you and many more in the future.
