Dunkin Donuts
sells 2.7 million cups of coffee every day, nearly one
billion cups a year. That is a lot of coffee....
On September 30th a new espresso
product line was launched with the help of imagery
from Ernestina and the celebrity of the New England
Quarterback, Tom Brady.
Ernestina staff worked with the
International Communications firm of Fleishman-Hillard,
Inc. to acquire some underway footage of the ship with
all sail set including a new "fisherman
staysail," Dunkin Donuts logo emblazoned on the
starboard side, built by Sperry
Sails in Marion, MA.
We also flew a swallowtail banner
and many pennants built by Penny Brewer at Brewer
Banner Designs in New Bedford (Penny has built the
long Ernestina swallowtail banners that are often seen
flying from Ernestina's masthead in port).
In order to get underway footage, a
chase boat was needed. We called our good and longtime
friend, Fairhaven Harbormaster Gary Golas, for
assistance. He brought the film crew aboard at the New
Bedford/Fairhaven Harbor outer channel approach where
we had some room to maneuver for the cameras earlier
in the month.
Schooner Ernestina is proud to
support Massachusetts-based companies as one way of
exposing the ingenuity and work ethic that built this
state and our nation ~ ...something that Ernestina
exemplifies in her own history.
