You can see from the track to the right that
there were some gaps in GPS coverage for the day
(were the course track is interupted) We always
back up the electronic information coming in by
GPS with the old tried and true navigation
methods by dead reckoning and coastal piloting
using bearings from the compass....
You can see some music was going on Friday
evening and some plankton sampling and other
nautical skills/diversions the next day.
Captain's
Log Star Date 6/8/02
We
have arrived in Boston Harbor at 15:51. It
was a screaming 24 hours. We had to set up
the sails, take up and put back the anchor, and
scrub the deck. However, it was fun for the
most part. At about 9 p.m. we had a jam
session starring DJ Boogie, AKA Mokey
Levine. I played the guitar while Steve
played the harmonica with Manis.
I,
with my supreme musical skills, explained to
people why the science club is the best club and
why they should vote for me to be the Senior
Class Treasurer for Milton High School. By
the way, vote for me! We also
got to see the sunset and the stars.
Sometimes
it's good to see nature without all of the
pollution in the way. We also
read scary stories. My story about the Mary
Celeste was not as scary as the curse of
Amen-Ra. That story was freaky.
The
Captain turned 21 (how old????), supposedly, we
had a giant song going on. Well,
this is as much time as I have. I had a
great time here with the MHS Science Club. Thanks
everybody for the experience! Until
next time, Clyde Brown
